From above, we are treated to a wider view of our world. We see how shapes, colors, and contours of landscapes form intriguing patterns. And, if we look closer, we can see how the creatures who inhabit these spaces flock together, or go it alone.
Our recent Nature Photographer of the Year contest included an aerials category to call attention to this singular way of capturing moments. We’ve chosen a selection of pictures that reveal especially captivating views of our world and the animals we share it with.
