Singapore is amazing! Especially in the night. Honestly, I have never seen any city that looks like Singapore in the evening.

Part of what makes a city, a city, are the people that flood the streets and fill the buildings with the energy and emotion of daily life. But a city's also memorable for its architecture—inspired design, arresting angles, and buildings that stand tall—or sometimes squat—as throngs of residents, commuters, and visitors vibrate through the maze of streets.

The 2018 Travel Photographer of the Year contest is in full swing and our editors are thrilled to travel around the world through photographers' eyes, exploring modern cities, ancient cities, and everything in between. In this gallery, see some of the structural scenes submitted so far to the cities category and start planning your next big—or small—urban architectural adventure.
